Today on Mecha Analysis, we look at episode 7 of G no Reconguista.
Something to keep in mind when looking at the mechanical designs of G no Reconguista: The ones responsible for mechanical design are as follows,

  • Akira Yasuda, known for designing mechs in Turn A Gundam, Code Geass and Overman King Gainer.
  • Kimitoshi Yamane, notable for mechanical designs in G Gundam, Gundam SEED, SEED Destiny, SEED Stargazer, IGLOO, and Eureka Seven: AO
  • Not much can be found about Ippei Gyobu. I think he's new.

Episode 7
This episode was a little hard to follow. We see multiple events taking place at the same time - while the pirates are being supplied by the Amerian Army, the Captial Army continues pursuit of the pirates and Bellri's mother acts like she leaves the under nut by accident to find her son. I may have to go back and watch it a few more times to get a clearer picture.

Grunts

I can understand why Grimories are continued to be used, but if you have a fleet of Elf-Bullocks, what's the point of the Catish?

Either way, a new grunt comes into the picture, the Jahannam - the staple of Amerian Army mobile suits.

This suit features very regular armaments and nothing to boast. Though I hope there is something interesting about the suit, with other suits from the Amerian Army, like the Hecate, already shown off, I doubt we'll see much more from this mobile suit.

Elf-Bullock

We continue seeing this as the Capital Army's latest and greatest, but instead of seeing one suit supported by a fleet of Catish, there is a fleet of Elf-Bullocks with a small supporting Catish team. Unfortunately, after its debut in episode 5, we see no new features from this mobile suit.

Aesthetically, the grunt versions of the Bullock different in the head design. Mr. Mask's version is closer to the Elf-Bull whereas the grunts heads look closer to the Catish. After seeing various forms of this mobile suit, I can definitely say I am not interested in getting it in Gunpla form.

Montero & Arcane

Though there is a little more action seen from the Arcane, we continue to see similar roles taken by both mobile suits - Klim in the Montero continues to fight with Mr. Mask in his Elf Bullock, Aida in her Montero picks off a few grunts, interacts with the G-Self before Bellri goes off and disrupts the battle between Klim and Mask. No new features present in these mobile suits.
At least we get to see the Arcane do a little bit of flying this episode!

G-Self

It is currently hard to tell what kind of power the G-Self holds (I'm assuming this is done on purpose to keep the viewer in suspense). What is this rainbow colored barrier? Once the true form of these Rainbow energy fields is revealed, will we have to buy it as an online exclusive like Turn A Gundam's Moonlight Butterfly effect part? As with most things, all things will be revealed with time.

Armorzagan

The mobile suit of this week! I saw the concept drawings of this suit on Gundam Guy not realizing how big it actually is. The only feature shown in this episode is lasers - all the lasers.

I think I covered everything. Time to watch the episode again.
That is all the Mecha Analysis for the week. Between Morgenroete and myself, there is a Custom Build and a Quick Review in the works. I hope you'll stick around! Also, for those who are wondering on the progress of the SD Messer. I recently had some delays due to various factors, weather being a major one. Hopefully I can work on that soon.
Until next time, may your cuts be clean and sandpaper rough. This is Gundariumsmith, signing out!
