We continue Mecha Analysis with episode 23 of Gundam G No Reconguista. Something to keep in mind when looking at the mechanical designs of Gundam G No Reconguista: The ones responsible for mechanical design are as follows,

  • Akira Yasuda, known for designing mechs in Turn A Gundam, Code Geass and Overman King Gainer.
  • Kimitoshi Yamane, notable for mechanical designs in G Gundam, Gundam SEED, SEED Destiny, SEED Stargazer, IGLOO, and Eureka Seven: AO
  • Not much can be found about Ippei Gyobu. I think he's new.

Episode 23
What just happened in this episode? So much thrilling action, gripping emotions, and generically branded moisturizer packed into one episode! I found it hard to talk about this episode because it was pretty confusing on first watch (not to mention the massive distraction that is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate). Hopefully I did not miss anything amidst of all the action for this episode.

Wuxia

We see our second bike-like vehicle in this episode, this time piloted by a Wuxia. After seeing the potential of the Meteor Hopper, I'd love to see more of these vehicles as kits.

Coffin Bits (Hecate)

What is this thing and when will we get a kit of it? Apparently these suits are the frigates of the force. Their only purpose is to absorb the enemy's volleys and prevent damage of the main ship. I did not catch the name if it was said. Thank you Droyer for clearing that up, I must have not been paying attention enough to catch the name "Coffin Bits" in the scene right before they deployed.

Thanks again, Droyer!

Guy Trash

We see this suit make a return, this time with offensive use of its shower curtain. The suit definitely looks more appealing in action, but as a kit, I can't see this thing doing so hot (not that the G no Reconguista High Grades are doing so hot to begin with). At least it looked like a badass in this episode.
G-Self
Clearly the episode was a showcase of the Perfect Pack's true ability. Bellri uses three different abilities based on previous backpacks - Reflector, Torque, and Assault.

The Perfect pack articulates its rear fins to imitate the previous packs and magically forms the rest of the pack through Television static. The suit also changes colors accordingly.

All of this seems like a strange mix of technology of the Universal Century, Cosmic Era, and Anno Domini. I wonder if Tomino is going to go butterfly with the G-Self in the finale (inb4 P-Bandai Online Exclusive effect parts).

There we have it, episode 23 complete! I hope to see you all tomorrow bright and early for this week's episode of Gundam Build Fighters Try! Also, this week is the last week to enter into Gunpla Lollapalooza! Make sure you submit your entry by this Friday (13th March)! Even if you don't think you have what it takes to win, just build with us - the worst that could happen is your chance to win a MG Ball Ver. Ka! Please join us for some building action!

  1. The little box robots are the coffin bits that Mick Jack and Klim Nick are talking about. You can see one launching from the Hecate and transforming.
