Gundam G no Reconguista Episode 14

We continue the new year with Mecha Analysis of episode 15 of Gundam G No Reconguista. Something to keep in mind when looking at the mechanical designs of Gundam G No Reconguista: The ones responsible for mechanical design are as follows,
  • Akira Yasuda, known for designing mechs in Turn A Gundam, Code Geass and Overman King Gainer.
  • Kimitoshi Yamane, notable for mechanical designs in G Gundam, Gundam SEED, SEED Destiny, SEED Stargazer, IGLOO, and Eureka Seven: AO
  • Not much can be found about Ippei Gyobu. I think he's new.

Episode 15
The first time I watched this episode, I was quite distracted with frozen pipes from the sub zero temperatures. From what I could pay attention to, the action was some of the best in the series, and some exciting revelations to be revealed in the next episode. Unfortunately, those revelations did not happen in this episode.

The Amerian Duo

Klim and Mick sure like to stick together in battle. Though both suits did not show anything particularly new, the animation of their melee weapons were too cool in this episode not to mention. When will Bandai announce the Hecate?

Moran

Either I missed the name previous episodes or this is the first time they mentioned the name of this mobile suit. This Towasangan grunt was "chosen over the YG (G-Self)" meaning it must have been considered a superior mobile suit.

The main armaments we see from the Moran is a beam rifle and a folding katana-like blade. The one captured on the Megafauna, now painted red, has a beam rifle with a weapon attachment similar to Banshee Norn's Revolving Launcher. I hope Bandai releases the Red Moran!

G-Self

According to Raraiya, the G-Self's original name was YG-111: all Towasangans refer to the G-Self as "The YG." I find it interesting that a name could change based on who uses it. What would it have been named had Instructor Dellensen had gotten a hold of it first?

A new feature is shown on G-Self's shield: It opens to deflect beam weapons.

Other than that, we see the return of the Assault Pack which can be controlled without being strapped into the large device.

Alincato

This is new and interesting. Like the Mega Rider, this mobile suit riding vehicle is equipped with a massive beam cannon in the front. Holding three Morans, this can be quite a formidable force as a unit.

I have always thought the prospect of requiring a machine to control another machine in this manner as silly and impractical. I guess my thoughts are silly in the Gundam Universe.

Zackses

Another Towasangan grunt suit. The only weapon we see them use are these charged nets used to capture the Amerian duo. I wonder what else these funky colored mobile suits have to offer. Are they part of the resistance Ringo mentioned?

That is it for Mecha Analysis for the first week in the new year! If you're experiencing the stupidly cold weather like I am, I hope you can stay warm. If the weather in your area is completely okay, count it as a blessing! May the weather not effect your Gunpla building capabilities, this is Gundariumsmith, signing out!
